You can either use the built in overclocking tool called Overdrive or use AMD gpu tool.

I do not know.. I got the 10.3 from the website,
the file name says 10-3_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu
is that a mobility or a desktop version?.. Maybe it is impossible to know from the file name...
AMD gpu tool seems to be more flexible? as Rob said he could get higher clocks with the AMD gpu tool?

Re: MSI GX740 with 5870 1gb ddr5
Yes it's more appropriate for enthusiast
It will let you go higher than the max clocks in overdrive.
Also , Overdrive comes with a built-in autotune feature which will oc it to the "safest" .. (if you don't feel like manually overclocking and testing
)
Pretty sure you got the desktop one
To get the mobility drivers you need to go through an annoying downloader. Here's the linky http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...b_win7-64.aspx

Re: MSI GX740 with 5870 1gb ddr5
I just did some tests with the temp screen viewable from the AMD GPU tool and will have them up a little later. I have not seen in any of the MSI chassis that support the 920XM an overclock option in the bios. There is none in this chassis either.

Are the pictures currently up on your website this current model or pictures of the old one?
@rob
Do you see any temp problems with the 55W 920XM?
In other words can the cooling system on this laptop handle it stock and OC'd?

How about the question about the CPU?
That would make or break this laptop.
