    Sorry for the late reply.
    Thanks !
Huh, these heatsinks do look weird, especially after you bended them I purchased these, which are more classical... : Cooltek VGA-RAM Cooler - Kupfer - beste Kühlung! bei eBay.de: Modding (endet 03.07.10 21:17:47 MESZ)
Recieved them this morning, so I guess I'll try out tonight. I hope they can somewhat meet the same performance as yours (although I haven't modded my backplate yet, except from removing the metal mesh )

errr.. I used my fingers and my arms and ripped it off ?

About 2-3°C difference I think. Although ambient air is really warm these days in my appartment (definitely above 30°C) and I would need to try in a normal environment to see true results

Ok, here's what I've juste done with my newly acquired copper heatsinks :

I have 3 heatsinks left now. Waiting for some advice, I'm hesitating. I can't place them on the cpu heatpipe since there's not enough room for them there. I could place some on the cpu heatsink directly, but I'm not sure if it would make good contact since there's a sort of gap there.

I could also place some on the gpu heatpipe, but I'm not sure this is good idea either. If everyone advises me to just keep it this way, then I will...

Pretty happy already, just from idling I'm about 5-6°C cooler.

is it possible, could all that copper just store more heat?
    more bad than good?

i wonder if theres a really low profile fan out somewhere to wedge in the laptop?

So far it's not doing bad, and I haven't modded the backplate yet !
Can't really test it though, ambient temp is way too high...

Danteleet, these heatsinks You bought are darn expensive! I've found the same heatsinks on ebay for 1USD for 8pcs. Just type in "copper ram heatsink" in ebay search engine...

Yeah but they arrived in a couple days, from germany. I wasn't confident with the chinese ones sent from hong kong or whatever !

Anyways, apart from this would you say I did something alright or I should redo it? Any tips ?
