What do you mean by default? The driver which came on the cd? Im using the 9.6 for W7 x64 on ati website. No crashes at all? Even on crysis and gta after many hours?

No the one that comes with Windows 7. 9.6 is known for having issues.

I cant get ATI catalyst to install on windows 7 or in XP. It just installs a manager but not the catalyst control center or drivers.

jman, you cant use the setup with the majority of drivers, you have to perform a manual INF install and then use DNA drivers to manually select install catalyst.

Beat me to it. Yep this is very true. I had the same problem and tried though device manager with finding the inf files, this works fine.

It depends. DNA drivers fix some issues for people but can break things for others. i would use whql drivers only unless you have specific issue then try DNA drivers.
