Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
Vaant,
Bad news, I downgraded windows 7 to default drivers which is 8.56.1.15 for me and still get Blue screen when playing GTA 4.

Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
Damn, that is bad news.
Are you able to find and use the windows 7 drivers that seemingly worked for tassadar898? Driver 8.56.1.13.
Also, are you on 32bit or 64?
I guess this almost confirms that it's a hardware issue? Seems only certain people get the errors, while some don't, on all different drivers and OS's.
MSI should receive my laptop on Tuesday, I'll be reporting back on if they can fix it or not. And all our laptops are still under warranty so it's not all bad news I guess... unless they can't diagnose the problem and fix it! But lets hope that doesn't happen ^^;Last edited by vaant; 28th June 2009 at 10:47 PM.

Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
Good news,
I finally got GTA IV to work for longer than 5 minutes. Just make a txt file called commandline.txt in gta folder and add "-windowed -nomemrestrict" to it. Has been working fine for me.

Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
I got the blue screen again but got at least an hour worth of gameplay before it froze. I dont know if it is a hardware problem or a problem with GTA IV, which is very buggy anyway.

Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
tassadar898 indicated to me he has had no more problems since he used the 8.56 drivers. Maybe it is a hardware issue but not everyone has it. I been playing Oblivion with loads of mods without issue for the last couple of days for about 2-3 hours each day, no BSODs. Hopefully vaant MSI support fixes the issue so others can know what to do and so you will finally be able to play the games you want without fail.

Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
Hi guys,
Here are a list of games I've played for more than an hour without any hitches:
Assassin's Creed
Dark Sector
Fifa 2009
NFS Most Wanted
Neverwinter Nights 2
Prototype*
RaceDriver Grid
Titan Quest
The Godfather 2
The Witcher
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009
*It BSOD on me once when I placed the ex625 on my lap after playing for more than 5 hours. I'm not sure if it's because of the heat or because the power pin was just halfway in the laptop (which i realised just before it blacked out on me).
Just to further note, I'm playing the games under the following conditions:
Avg Room Temp: 28 Celsius
OS: Vista 32 SP2
ATi Drivers: DNA Vista 32 version 8.612 BETA 3
Cooler: None
cheers,

Re: The MSI EX625 Thread
Hmmm, need to start having hwmonitor run in the background while you guys are gaming, prehaps we can understand the errors a bit better.
