Great price but your insurance rates are going to make it not a good first new car if you are under 25. It is probably going to end up being on the insurance grade of a WRX STi/Ricer type.

No car insurance will be good for ANY person under 25, sports car or not. I found WRX/STi insurance was slightly cheaper than say a Honda S2000, but I'm assuming it's 4 door sedan vs 2 door/seater convertible.

In other words, it get the "Ricer Inflation" regardless.

I'm pretty much convinced that I will have one of these in my garage in a few months. It doesn't have much power, but I'm glad to read that the peak is available at a low RPM range, even if it's only 150 lb-ft.

I would be interested...except I probably couldn't afford the insurance on a new RWD coupe..

i think it's definitely priced competitively. if one is willing to spend around 20k -/+ for a new Scion Tc then i don't see how the BRZ86 won't sell like hot cakes.

Well the old Scion tC sold like hotcakes as you could bargain it down to like 16 grand, which was the cost of an entry level Accord/Camry back in the day. With the tC now approaching 20k, BRZ86/GT-86 for 25 grand I think is high as the whole point is it is marketed towards young people, 25 grand is a quite a sum of money on top of insurance, maintenance, gas, everything.

It was my assumption that you could not bargain/barter on Scion vehicles?

Oh this was way back ago, like 2006/2007. My friend got a base automatic tC for like 16,500. Pretty much there is not the bargaining that happened 10+ years ago.
