Parking Violation???
Hey guys,
It's been almost 2 years since I've lived in my current residence, and I have always parked my car in this circle (image below) since my family has 3 cars but is only given 2 reserved parking spaces.

But this morning, I found a warning from police department attached not only on my car, but every car parked in that circle saying that I violated the following:
I'm just wondering if this section also applies to a semi-circle like this?§ 46.2-889. Location of parked vehicles.
No vehicle shall be stopped except close to and parallel to the right edge of the curb or roadway, except that a vehicle may be stopped close to and parallel to the left curb or edge of the roadway on one-way streets or may be parked at an angle where permitted by the Commonwealth Transportation Board or local authorities with respect to highways under their jurisdiction.Last edited by visiom88; 16th June 2011 at 04:43 PM. Re: Parking Violation???
If I were you I'd either start parking parallel to the curb or leave a Krispy Kreme coupon under the windshield wiper. Somebody probably complained about "all the illegally parked cars" recently.

Re: Parking Violation???
Now watch as everyone starts parking "Legally" and people complain about not having any space to park at all.
People complain about stupid things all the time.

Re: Parking Violation???
Exactly! On usual days it's already hard to find a parking around here, and parallel parking on this circle means losing at least 6 parking spaces. Not only these are cars, we also have trailers parked here.

Re: Parking Violation???
I'm 99% sure that you can only park parallel to the curb unless there are lines perpendicular to the curb.

Re: Parking Violation???
If everyone's been ticketed, the answer must be to lodge some sort of query complaint as a group surely?
