Re: K&N Air Filter for 2001 Camry (2.2L i4)
Seafoamed my Camry today instead. It already gave a lot of improvements by getting rid of carbon build-up in the engine. K&N filter is coming tomorrow, I'm looking forward to what differences that will make.

Re: K&N Air Filter for 2001 Camry (2.2L i4)
At least it will sound cooler and the A/C might not take such a big chunk out of engine performance as it used to!

My advice to you is to get your Camry tuned after you install the cold-air intake. Coupled with the CAI, that will make the biggest difference.Sony Vaio S13 - i5-3210M - 6GB - 750GB - Win 8

Re: K&N Air Filter for 2001 Camry (2.2L i4)
I'm sure I didn't feed it a sugar pill. You wouldn't call the difference from jumpy idle to dead-stable idle a placebo. Also my car used to take about 0.5 sec to push the throttle after stepping on pedal, but now the throttle is almost instant that I actually had to get used to it last night.
@usapatriot:
I googled some of CAI manufacturers, but couldn't find one for 2001 Camry. Would you suggest any products? Thanks!

I really don't know of any specific suggestions. One of the BEST things you can do is to join a Toyota or Camry owners forum. They will be able to provide much more specific advice!

Re: K&N Air Filter for 2001 Camry (2.2L i4)
I buy the panel filter to save money. Of all the cars I have had I have never once seen an increase from a panel alone. But I have seen an increase in funds in my wallet due to not having to replace the filter ever again. Just be sure to oil and clean it correctly or you can run into sensor issues.
If performance is what youre after then a full system is what you need. I did alot of intake work on my current jeep and Ill say that a full fipk is the way to go. I went with a panel and stock box, then panel and modded box then cone with stock tube and finally a custom tube and cone. None even came close to touching the full FIPK k and n system as far as throttle response and smoothness on acceleration. Granted the jeep doesnt feel faster, rather its smoother and feels stronger. Coupled with a nice exhaust it feels all around better, but not faster.
