Default XP won't let me enter password

I had my router set up without a password originally (I was trying to troubleshoot a problem. See, every time I reset my router I have to reconfigure the entire network. That problem still persists.). I reset it up today with WPA security (the only type I found to be compatible with my 360, PSP, tablet, and laptop). It was working fine for the most part. But now my XP machine does not prompt me for a password when connecting, and I can't figure out how to enter it.
My windows 7 machine works just fine, just the XP machine isn't working.
I thought maybe it remembers there used to be no passcode and it still thinks that is the case... but I also did change the network name when I added a password, so it shouldn't be remembering anything since that was a whole different network.
    Any advice please and thanks.

If you are on WPA2-AES, i do believe that some older versions of xp don't play nice with it, you could also check to make sure that the network encryption is set correctly in your wireless adapter's settings, i had to set it manually one time on my old xp notebook.

In Windows 7 there's an option called "manage wireless networks". Not sure what that might be called in XP.

Check that Windows XP is up to date and on Service pack 3

You can try manually enter in the security details in the Wireless settings.

Assuming you are not using some kind of third party network manager, go to
START > CONTROL PANEL > NETWORK CONNECTIONS.

    Right click your wireless adapter.

Should get a box up with general network properties showing,m so choose the WIRELESS NETWORKS tab.

In the bottom box, you should see all previously save network connections. Select each and delete them.

You should now be able to reset up the connection.
