Windows XP internet connection trouble

I have a Lenovo 4446-52U that came stocked with Windows Vista.
Well, because I hate Windows Vista I reformatted to XP Professional SP3 (the Lenovo website does offer XP driver, so it should be compatible)
I was going to download my drivers, so I connected my USB wireless card (D-Link DWA-111) and installed the drivers, but not the D-Link connection utility.
The problem is that it keeps connecting, then dropping the connection immediately, or it connects to the network with "limited connectivity" and won't access the internet.
Also the internet connection icon sometimes displays an arrow in between connecting and failing
- I double checked that the password I was entering was correct
- I checked my WPA settings and they are all correct
- I tried the wireless card in my friends computer and it worked immediately, so the card is not defective.
- The computer is set to automatically obatin an IP adress and DNS server adress
- I made sure the following services were set to automatic and were running:
DNS Client
Remote Procedure Call
DCHP Client
-I opened CMD and ran the following command: ipconfig -flushdns with no error, but still did not resolve problem.
- I ran the following command next: ipconfig/release
It said "IP adress for Wireless Network Adapter has already been released"
- I then ran the following command:ipconfig/renew
It returned the following error: "An error occured while reneving interface Wireless Network Connection : the operation was cancelled by the user"
That is not true. I didn't touch a single button.
I then ran ipconfig

-I tried "repair connection" but it always fails at the "Renew IP Adress" part.
I then tried to install the D-Link wireless manager, and set the D-Link manager to be the primary connection manager because it shows more real time statistics.
When it does connect it says: ip Adress 0.0.0.0 signal 4 bars and when it drops everything goes blank.

I cannot try the Ethernet as I don't have my drivers yet.

This is obviously some time of IP obtaining problem, but I can't figure it out.

Do you have another computer that you can try on your network just to be sure your ISP is working properly?

Yes, when I tried the D-link card on my friend's notebook it was on my ISP.
