Show off your Vista or XP Desktop - Second Edition!
Ok guys, the old thread is really old so we decided to move on and create a new one. As we're getting many complains about huge images I would like to establish some ground rules for this thread:
Rules
- Do not post huge images. Make them a thumbnail image, or post a link to a larger image. If you don't know how to make the image thumbnailed I've created a simple guide using http://imageshack.us. If you prefer photobucket check the photobucket.com guide(Thanks to Manic Penguins). Another option is NBR build-in image attachments - you need to switch from "Quick Replay" to "Advanced". To do that simply click on "Go Advanced" button, right under the "Quick Reply" box.
- Do not quote images, just cut it out of the post.
- If someone post a huge image anyway please report using the "Report Post" function of the forum. It will be really appreciated if you do the thumbnailing and send the "thumbnail code" within the report.
imageshack.us guide
Note: This guide is just an example, you can use whatever image hosting service you want. Obviously, I can't cover all of them and I use imageshack.us because..well, no reason, it's just a choice I made.
Attachment 31162 | Step 1: Open http://imageshack.us . When the page is loaded,
click on the browse button and select an image file from your computer. |
| Attachment 31163 | Step 2: Once you have a file selected, check/uncheck
the "Remove size/resolution bar from the thumbnail"(Optional) and click on
the "host it!" button. The uploading will take some time. |
| Attachment 31164 | 3. Click on the code from "Thumbnail for forum(1)" box, this way
you're selecting it. Then copy and paste the code directly into the forum
post/message box. When you submit your post
the thumbnail should be displayed. |
When you post a thumbnailed image the result should look like this:

Very nice! This will be great a fresh *start* :D
Photobucket also *thumbnails*, I bounce between Imageshack and Photobucket. But I mostly use PB! :D
So, I went back to this one...as I'm hungry for strawberries :D

Yeah, I wanted to make guides for both imageshack and photobucket but then I realized you need to have a registered account with photobucket and imageshack you don't need one so it's easier to use. Though..I may add a photobucket guide later..

They are both great! I also like PB, because you can *edit* your photo's quite easily (and it's fun), with all the Edit options!
A PB guide would be great!
Cin ;) :)
