      Thank you for the responses. I should have been more clear, I have brown burn marks just like I saw in some of the picture that were posted. I have contacted Dell about it, hopefully they can put in a new cable and that will fix the issue then.

        Then it needs to be replaced for sure. Also turn express charging off in bios.

      I am having issues with my Alienware 15 R2 power cable getting hot. I saw that you had posted something about replacing yours without replacing the motherboard a while back. I was looking for a follow up regarding that. Did the cable fix your issue or did you have to get the motherboard replaced as well? Thank you for any help.

        hi, for me after 8 months the problem have not returned. The cable is till in pristine condition. i checked for the last time 2 weeks ago

        gtting hot is not the same as burned by the way. it gets hot because the vrms are there too. if the cable connector is clean white without burn marks it is okay
