Next month's release of Ubuntu should support our newer hardware, if all else fails.

    Here's a guide:

If it doesn't work, you might want to give ndiswrapper a go until 8.10 is released.

Doesn't Intrepid Ibex support this card? I have support for the newer 5100 AGN card on my HP dv5t. Skip Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy all together.

The alpha 6 version is out now, but as I'm looking, the website appears to be down. You could probably find a torrent somewhere with a quick google search.

Get alpha 6, as alpha 4 did not work for me.

There's a beta, don't install the alphas on any machine using the e1000e driver for ethernet as it may be rendered non-functional. The e1000e driver is removed in the beta, so you won't have ethernet, but you don't have to worry about damaging it.

The ubuntu betas can go through a lot of crazy changes before the final version is released. Using a beta is fine just so long as you aren't 100 percent dependent upon it. Eventually you should do a clean install of Ibex anyway.
