Default Envy 13 display in LG p330?

Anyone know if it would be possible to build the Envy 13 display into the p330?

Its 13.1" big compared to the 13.3" of the lg p330..

So does anyone have a clue?

    1. Please check your laptop model in compatible list or tell if wide screen or standard screen.
    2. Please check the LCD screen size and resolution.
    3. Please check the Data connector (14pin, 20pin, 30pin(S M L) ,40pin(S,M,L), 50pin 60pin ) and position
    4. Please check the physical resolution pixels of LCD screen.
    5. Please check the backlight type(LED or 1CCFL, 2 CCFL)
    Envy 13 display

The envy 13 display was one of the best laptop displays ever used

You've probably seen it already, but I created a little list myself in the owner's thread. The 13.1" vs 13.3" may be enough to actually cause problems, not to mention all the other requirements. The problem is that none of us have looked at the P330's panel, so we don't know anything about it. One of my main concerns is the slim bezel of the P330. It probably has quite uncommon mounting and dimensions, not that those are standardized anyway. Personally I would be more interested in the upcoming Asus UX31A's display. That's also a 13.3" panel, so that slightly increases the chances of it working.

The p330 is such a nice notebook and has a really good build quality and feel, but why did they use an average panel instead of the IPS panel they promised.. too bad

BTW I found out that the panel in the lg p220 is the same as in the thinkpad x220

Mostly in these situations, the LVDS cable is the problem. Those laptops that use 6-bit 1366x768 screens are often equipped with gimped cables that only have 30 pins active on the cable, even if the other end fits a 40 pin panel.

Likely the task will be finding a compatible cable, if the dimensions are the same it usually works.

I really hope we'll find a panel that fits. How I see it there are only three things I don't like about my P330:
    1) Screen is of average quality
    2) Keyboard keys are slightly rotatable
    3) The power connector requires very little force to move around

Of course, the screen part is what annoys me the most since I think about what could've been.

Really, the keyboard bugs you? In my opinion is one of the best things of the p330, i really like the keyboard..

Only the screen bugs me, the power connector isnt that bad..

Talking about the screen, do you know any matte screen protectors that fit the p330?

It doesn't really bug me. This is the critizing part of me speaking, pointing out the only flaws of the P330 that I can see. I think the keyboad feels very pleasant to type on. Apart from what I've mentioned I only have positive things to say about the P330, so I hope I don't seem dissatisfied because that would be very far from the truth. I love how solid this laptop feels. There's absolutely no flex, even on the bottom plastic side. I love the touchpad. I love how they used brushed aluminium. I love the 6+ hours of battery life. I love the quiet and efficient cooling. Last but not least, I love how it manages to fit all those powerful and neat components into such a small and attractive package. I do not in any way regret purchasing this laptop; it suits my needs very well.

I haven't really looked for a matte screen protector. The surface of the screen is only semi glossy, so it hasn't been bothering me.

This is exactly the problem we ran into trying to adapt an HD+ display in our Acer 3820TG's. In the Acer, the problem was insurmountable. When the new Lenovo updates its 13.3" X1, it will have a 13.3" HD+ display. The Asus UX31 has one now. Replacement displays from these 2 models will physically, if you can solve the connection issues.

Do you know if the P330 uses LVDS? Embedded displayport (eDP) is getting more popular and if the P330 uses eDP you have a number of high quality panels to choose from.

Aren't there supposed to be two cables connected to the panel? I can only make out one coming out of the left hinge from the only picture of the internals posted here on NBR. Unfortunately the plug itself is covered by a sticker.
