Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Yes, since running the modules at a tighter timing than what they're capable of would lead to instability, you would have to sacrifice performance on the best performing module in order to make the whole set run in a stable manner. You should be able to find the complete list of latency values by going into the BIOS setup.
EDIT: Found a datasheet that includes the tRAS http://html.alldatasheet.com/html-pd...6BFR8C-H9.htmlLast edited by Convel; 6th January 2012 at 07:40 PM.

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Usually faster timings will default to slower ones no problem if coupled with a "slower" RAM chip.

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Awesome thanks! The datasheet shows the ram as 9-9-9-36? I did a search for software that can identify our ram timings, and I came across CPU-Z (from CPUID). When I ran CPU-Z, it said that my timings are 9-9-9-24. Most of the rams I found on newegg also shows 9-9-9-24...is it safe to use that?
Okay so basically when a 9-9-9 and an 8-8-8 is used the 8-8-8 will usually automatically default to 9-9-9?

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Thanks for the hint, I'll try to check that.
I bought my 4GB ram module from ebay and it cost 22 usd. It was Kingston KVR1333D3S9/4G and it works beautifully.
• Programmable CAS Latency: 9, 8, 7, 6
• Programmable Additive Latency: 0, CL - 2, or CL - 1 clock
• Programmable CAS Write Latency(CWL) = 7 (DDR3-1333)
I haven't yet ordered it. Maybe in couple of weeks time. I most probably will order it from ebay but I may also end up to some chinese wholesale retailer. I will let you know also where I ended up to eventually.

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Hi All, I just received my P330 (the i7 version) - my friend just came back from his holiday in Korea.
I want to ask this question: how do we open the bottom panel (to replace HDD etc)?Sony VAIO SVS13A15GGB [Intel Core i7-3520M 2.90 GHz, 12 GB DDR3, 512 GB SSD]
Sager NP6110 [Intel Core i7-3610QM 2.30 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, 512 GB SSD]

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Hey Rob, congratulation on your new purchase
and welcome to the LG P330 lounge thread.
Opening the bottom is relatively easy. First of all you need to remove all the screws that you can see on the bottom.
Then remove the battery and you can see another 3 screws.
Last 2 screws to find are behind the front pads of the notebook.
After this you should be able to remove the bottom.
(slowly put pressure on the bottom corners and add a little bit more pressure each time, it should "pop up")
Just remember that you should never have to put too much strength to remove the bottom.
If it happens that s probably because one screw was not removed.
Inside the notebook it's pretty easy, remove the HDD cage on the left (and be super careful with the motherboard/hdd connector) put your ssd and check if it works.
I am very interested to know if your SSD is recognized and in this case which SSD do you use. My Crucial M4 512gb is not recognized by the notebook and I know a Korean guy who has the same problem with the 256gb version.Last edited by Natadiem; 9th January 2012 at 10:50 PM.

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Hi Natadiem, thank you very much for your reply. One thing I'm still unsure though, how do I take out the front pads of the notebook to find the last 2 screws?
Btw I have 2 SSDs, both are Crucial, one C300 256gb and one M4 512gb like yours, and I'm also planning to buy an OCZ when I have the money. OK, I will update you later about the SSDs after I open the bottom panel.Sony VAIO SVS13A15GGB [Intel Core i7-3520M 2.90 GHz, 12 GB DDR3, 512 GB SSD]

Re: LG P330 review by Natadiem
Well, I used a flat screw drive but I suppose with a plastic card it might be more cautious.
I could put back the pads on the notebook, the paste is still strong.
I would be extremely interested to see if you have more luck than me with your SSDs. My SSD bios version was 009.Current :
