Re: LG P330 (i7 + Nvidia 555m!)
Ok same test with prime 95 running with furmark 2 cycles:
Max CPU temp was 79 degrees.
I would like to add that because of the 1366 resolution from this notebook, I had to choose 1024 bench in the furmark test. Probably it helps a bit compared to the 1280.
I don t know for you but I am very happy with the results so far.
Concerning the drivers, I could modify properly the inf in order to get the 290.36 but I have no luck 290.53 my inf doesn t work maybe...
Skyrim perf is already stellar but there is nothing wrong with playing ultra at high fps with 1366 res, right
.
Current :
M18x R2 - i7 3720QM - 8gb - 7970m CFX - Micron C400 512gb - killer wireless N 1103
LG P330 UE70K - 13 inch with GT555M and i7 - MSATA and HDD - 8 gb

Re: LG P330 (i7 + Nvidia 555m!)
Well, I can just give you my personal word based on 2 days limited utilization.
I owned almost all the small gaming notebooks : Sony Z with GT330M, LG P310 with GT9600m, M14x with same gpu than this one.
I also had a p150hm that I loved for portability and power but didn t kept it because of small battery life.
So far I can say, that the notebook is silent at idle and doesn t make as much noise as m14x when on load. Temps are no problem and you can maximize new games at the 1366 res.
The battery is around 5-6h while working with 70% brightness.
All of this with a nice dark blue business like enclosure which weight 1.7kg.
So yes, for me it s a winner, I definitely cannot compare it with the M14x. It s smaller with same perf. Even the screen brightness is better but I think the contrast on m14x was better (900p screen). Also colours are way better than m14x.
I have (for the moment because I will sell shortly) a wonderful mbp 17 which I love for its screen.
But I can live with the LG P330 screen, I couldn t with M14x.
So yeah for me I think I found my graal for the moment.
However there are a few problems: my SSD 512gb M4 crucial was not recognized (a korean started a thread about it on crucial forum and I am also participating).
And so far we are very few to have it, so for the nvidia drivers I am on my own so far and I can t get the 290.53 working.
Voila, please keep in mind this is my opinion and I am not a fanboy, I will buy any brand which offers me the greatest power in small package with good battery.
Of course I can be wrong, but this is not a coincidence to have korean notebook seller with such a powerful ultrabook with middle up gpu. Koreans play SC2 even the business men. In Japan they are happy with monster hunter, that s why Japanese brands notebook usually have middle low gpu. It s more than enough for SF4 and devil may cry...
The only competitor from the lg p330 would be the lg p330 with the IPS screen as it was expected at the beginning. There is no words of it yet, but they had a prototype with it...That would be an amazing gaming machine...
Oh yeah, the side vent is very well thought. There is three large entrances actually. No problem to game with skyrim on high/ultra on my lap.Current :

LG P330 UE70K - 13 inch with GT555M and i7 - MSATA and HDD - 8 gb

Re: LG P330 (i7 + Nvidia 555m!)
Natadiem, exactly how bad are the speakers?
I don't care about the quality, but what about the maximum volume what is it compareable to?
When watchign the youtube videos, i can't see a grill for the speakers so they must be the bottom of the machine right?
What do you think they are, 2watt speakers at least? 1.5watt maybe lol does it say on the spec sheet

Re: LG P330 (i7 + Nvidia 555m!)
which NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M does the P330 have?
GeForce GT 555M
and if it is the 96 shader version is that a native 96 shader GPU, or a 192 shader gpu with half the shaders disabled?
cheers.

Re: LG P330 (i7 + Nvidia 555m!)
I am coming from M14x, P150HM and MBP17 which all have above average speaker quality.
The P330 speakers are doing an average job I would say. If you stay around the notebook it will be alright but don t expect the notebook to fill your hotel room with music... I think they are at bottom front, because the notebok has a trapeze shape the speakers are not totally under the bottom. Still they are not powerful (weaker than my previous laptop), I am not home so I don t have access to the spec sheets. I will do later (but I don t read Korean).Current :
