Default Removing the keyboard on an LG S1

    Hi guys-
Heres a short guide to remove the keyboard. It isnt difficult at all, and the only thing to remember is to turn the notebook off before you start . Although be aware that messing around with your notebook is solely your on responsibility. I cant quarantee that nothing goes wrong!
The pictures were taken using a SE w810i, so the quality is not the best.

    1)
The first step is to unscrew two screws located on the back of the notebook.

    2)
Next, take a look at your notebooks keyboard. Four "clips" is situated at the top of the keyboard. To unhook the keyboard these clips should be pushed into their sockets.
    Pic;

To do this ive just used a kitchen knife with a blunt end, as seen in the pictures below. I guess a small screwdriver would do the job just as good.

    3)
When these clips are pushed in, the keyboard comes right off the notebook. And you have acces to one of the ram sockets as seen in the pictures below. To set the keyboard back on, just push it into the fittings and down on the notebook and the clips come right out again. Remeber to screw on the screws at the back of your notebook again.

Thats it! This worked, as you can see from the pics, perfectly well on my notebook.

    Godd job Bjuste!
I don't have an S1, but I think it's a good guide, useful if someone needs to replace the first ram slot. (why lg placed it there?)
Don't worry about the picture quality, they're only a bit yellow...
I have tuned a little some of them, they're in the attachments

    Thanks for the replies!
Its nice to see that it could become usefull for som ppl

Thanks. I think that I accidentially turned on an effect called sepia which renders the pictures "yellowly" like

#polat; Mine is a 2.16 Ghz Core Duo. Hmm, Im a bit unsure that mine isnt copper too. Due to the sepia effect the picture may not reproduce the colors right. But im to lazy to check it again right now Btw. the model nr. of mine is LG S1 MDGCG.

Thanks, hope they come in handy

i thought u had to take every screw out, so i ended up pulling apart my s1 before seeing the clippy things on top. ended up wasting 2 hours on something that should have taken me 20 minutes!!
oh well at least my new keyboard works =D

Sometime ago I asked about the "Other" Ram location in one of my topics and some suggested it was under the keyboard but I didn’t have the guts to risk messing around my laptop, so thank you for verifying this to me

I have a P1-J003A9 and I can confirm that both the method and the second RAM slot location are pretty much the same. Pushing in those pins without scratching the paint is a pain in the , though (two for four, I guess the laptop couldn't go without scratches forever).
