Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
Did you reinstall the old Conexant Driver?
It is available here: Conexant Audio Software for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad T420, T420i, T420s, T420si, T520, T520i, W520, X1, X1 Hybrid, X220, X220i, X220 Tablet, X220i Tablet

Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
Forgive my cluelessness, but I cannot figure out how to begin the install. I DL'd the three X64 files and the Thinkmix2 files; they are sitting in the Skydrive folder in Appdata/local/temp. Instructions say to "Go to X86 or X64 folder, open DTPC.msi". I don't know what X64 folder they are referring to and I have no such DTPC file on my computer. How do I launch the installer?

Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
I looked at your post, but this did not help me. As I said, I have no DTPC.msi visible anywhere. I just have the four files I referenced in my original post. They seemed to have self-extracted and are sitting inside a folder called Skydrive. Someone help please.
Edit: Ok, the mediafire mirror worked for me. Just took a while to figure out where to put custom setting file, how to get rid of Conexant driver (since it kept reinstalling), etc. But result is totally worth it. Sound is so much louder and better defined.Last edited by lectrolink; 27th May 2012 at 10:48 PM.

Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
What files do you see in the Skydrive folder? You probably haven't extracted the x64 parts together to get the following items to perform the installation:
- Drivers.msi
- DTPC.msi
- dtpc_mda.zip
To do that you'll need something like 7Zip or WinRAR which can extract the true contents by combining the 3 x64 parts together. If you're still confused by this then you can download the mirror below...
I've spent some time uploading the Dolby files on Mediafire for those who have trouble accessing the SkyDrive archives. All the relevant installation files listed above are inside the folder alongside with the PDF instructions and my INX file. With this mirror you do not need to download three parts and combine them using a separate zipping utlility tool, just extract the contents (make a new folder called "Dolby" on your hard drive) and install.
- Dolby x86 (32 bit) Drivers Mirror (110.62MB)
- Dolby x64 (64 bit) Drivers Mirror (111.57MB)

Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
I just want to thanks because I am really astonished with the Dolby Driver, it is incredible!. I am not a "sound-expert", but here the difference between the stock driver and the new one is enormous.
Lenovo has really a pending task with respect to the quality of the drivers that it offers...

Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
I've uploaded some new or rather updated Settings: Dolby v4 Settings (600X).zip
The new "Smart Audio CLR" Settings should also be suitable for the T420 now. Anyone wanna give it a try?

Re: Dolby Home Theater for your ThinkPad!
600X: this is totally awesome! Much better than just using the audio booster in Media Player Classic - and it works for everything, not just movies! Pretty shocking what how much the software is able to coax out of these little drivers.
Just one thing - in the PDF it said to uninstall the drivers, but I think this should NOT be done. I left the Intel Audio driver and it got 'upgraded' to Dolby, but the Conexant driver simply reinstalled itself after the installation of the Dolby package. When I rolled back the Intel driver and reinstalled Dolby without removing the Conexant drivers, everything worked fine. I'm sure you know this by now but I'm pretty sure the first post still says 'follow the pdf' without reservation. If not, sorry, just trying to be helpful. Thanks a lot!Last edited by LastSilmaril; 4th June 2012 at 07:30 AM. Reason: grammar
