X220T with Windows 8. How to disable touchpad. Bluetooth, speakers?
I just installed the windows 8 consumer preview. All is working fine, need some tuning.
One of the biggest problem (for me) is that function key are not working. Fn+F8 is not working and I don't know how to disable the touchpad: is really annoying, when I use the trackpad the mouse goes all over (I ALWAYS touch the touchpad and is extremely annoying)
How to disable the touchpad?
Also Bluetooth and speakers are not working, how to>
Thank you

You need to download and install device drivers and utilities specific to X220T (and compatible with Windows 8).

Re: X220T with Windows 8. How to disable touchpad. Bluetooth, speakers?
I haven't tried the bluetooth or audio drivers but the speakers worked from the start for me. I installed the trackpad/trackpoint drivers and software and that allowed me to disable the touchpad, but I haven't tried to install the other thinkpad software so I had to turn it off manually in Devices.

^^^ Turn Bluetooth on. Usually, Fn+F5 brings up the window for turning on/off WiFi and BT. As soon as BT is turned on for the first time, Windows might be smart enough to install its driver automatically. Otherwise, you know what to do.

Re: X220T with Windows 8. How to disable touchpad. Bluetooth, speakers?
In msconfig, under Startup tab, make sure ThinkPad Power Manager is present and enabled. Under Services tab, make sure ThinkPad PM Service is present and running. Without this, hotkeys (such as Fn+F5) and onscreen displays (such as brightness bar) do not work.
When you use System Update to download Power Manager, it pulls in a bunch of "related" things, such as hotkey handling. Don't ask me why.
