it doesn't really bother me per se (visually, etc.), but sometimes I do feel how the left palmrest gives in when I'm typing and in those situations it does bother me
ThinkRob, does the same thing happen with your T420 too, i.e. is this what you were referring to in your review?
thanks for your input (I recently had a rather bad experience with a brand new X201 and am still going through the whole ordeal with Lenovo CS)Last edited by TobaccoMan; 4th May 2011 at 01:39 PM. Reason: typos

Re: Thinkpad T420 Owner's Thread
FYI I had mentioned that I had a low graphics score on my t420 with integrated graphics and 6 gb ram. The score was 4.6 but yesterday I went into my power manager and put the slider all the way to the left for performance and my score went up to 5.3.

Re: Thinkpad T420 Owner's Thread
I get you there. I admit, I think of it kind of like the "chin" (as users used to call it) on the white iMac desktops. I'm okay with it being there --I'm wondering if it was done that way because Lenovo might have designed much of the T420 prior to knowing what display panel (and therefore what aspect ratio) would be available to them. I would love having another .25-.5" of display there, though.

I haven't noticed this --in fact, my T420 palmrest is by far the best of the three ThinkPads I've owned, firm, with no creaks or wiggles.ThinkPad T420, i5-2520M, 16GB, 256GB mSATA MyDigitalSSD (IN TESTING) + 500GB Scorpio Black

Re: Thinkpad T420 Owner's Thread
Update - I'm sure you're aware of Lenovo's official Ultrabay Slim Enhanced Hard Drive Caddy not big enough to cover the T420's bezel. Well I just got my unofficial 12.7mm caddy courtesy of Digizon and i'm pleased to report it works beautifully. Everything is reporting fine and no foam to fill!

If you're keen to know where I got this caddy I bought it from Digizon eBay Store who shipped it from the USA to my doorstep in the UK. I hope this helps T420 owners who want to expand their storage options!Last edited by Hearst; 4th August 2011 at 05:32 PM.

Re: Thinkpad T420 Owner's Thread
Mainly because I want to take advantage of the SATA III drives and there wasn't much choice for the mSATA SSD market in comparison to normal SSD's. But thats my preference, there isn't much wrong with mSATA and it allows you to expand storage without the need of a caddy.
