    Default Buying a used T410

Is there anything specific to the T410 that I should look out for when buying used?

Also, the seller provided the serial number, is there a way to tell if it is refurbished? I used the Lenovo warranty information look-up, but I didn't see anything indicating that it is refurbished.

I don't know of any failings specific to the T410 to look out for.

The only odd thing that happened since it was released was a bad BIOS update that wiped out the built-in Windows license. (google T410 SLIC). This means any re-installs of Windows might not find the license and request it. Even if you found the purchased machine had that missing, you should still be able to activate the Windows license using the key on the bottom of the machine.

Some have a squeaky palm rest on the left (perhaps when the smartcard reader is installer?). Not a biggie though.

what is the full model number? usually official refurbed machine would have certain sequence in the last 3 digits of the type number.

Just make sure the T410 is not overheating (run Prime95 for a hr or so, use HWmonitor to do the temp monitoring), and that the laptop have no cracks or major scratches, also make sure the optical drive works.

I just picked up a lightly used(purchased in March) T410 for $650. It looks brand new.
    i5, 3GB Ram, 250GB HD, Intel HD

I'm wiping the machine now and installing a fresh copy of Win 7. Thanks for all the help.
