Re: How do I replace my x200 hard drive with a SSD HD?
There probably is a guide, but the swap is pretty straight forward. On the left side of the x200 you have the hard drive bay. Remove 1 or 2 screws on the bottom that secure it, and slide the drive out. You will then need to remove a few screws to take the caddy off of the hard drive. Then place the SSD in the caddy and slide it in your x200.
The complicated part is getting your data across. If you have a desktop, ultrabase, or some other method of accessing two SATA drives at once, you can do a direct drive to drive clone (there are several free and commercial tools to do this). If you don't have this ability, and don't mind starting from scratch, the easiest thing to do is make the Recovery DVDs (1 boot CD, 2 image DVDs), and restore the factory image to your new SSD. You will then need to reinstall your applications and copy your data files over.
