    Default remapping buttons on trackpad

Ok, this is a fairly odd inquiry - but would it be even *remotely* possible to remap the functions of the three buttons above the touchpad on the thinkpad t60p? I believe they are part of the trackpoint package, but not sure. I'd like to convert them for use as 'push to talk' buttons for VOIP applications - so even remapping them to mouse buttons 5-7 would be useful. I'd even not be adverse to attempting basic hardware modding...

Those three buttons above the touchpad *are* the trackpoint's left, scroll and right click 'mouse' buttons.

yes, I want to map them as OTHER mouse buttons, so that I can use them independently of the mouse.
