That's a heck of a deal for the best notebook screen I've ever seen. I configured it with the minimums except for the DVD burner. It was $1150 which I think is a few hundred cheaper than the previous low though I could be wrong. If I were in the market, which I am not, I'd be looking at this.

It's a great promotion for a basic configuration. But any upgrades are not discounted. So an upgraded machine I configured online today cost more today than it cost last month. You cannot use the coupon on most discount sites like SPP

The code will not apply to any T60p flexview.

Yesterday at IBM, I carefully compared the new T61 15.4 side-by-side with a T60 flexview and a T60 4:3. The T61 15.4" was comparatively poor (brightest but uneven and harsh), the 4:3 was better (more sharp and even, but les bright), and the flexview was the best (sharp, smooth, even, accurate colors, best contrast, and of course best viewing angles).

Code works on IBM EPP. Also was about the same price as a similarly configured T61 14ws (DVDRW, 2Ghz, 100GB 72k, fingerprint, etc) for me which isn't bad since it is flexview.

What resolution were you comparing with?

Code no worky with T60p flexview, anywhere.

You gotta decide whether you want "the right T61" or a flexview. I've compared them side-by-side and it's a no-brainer to me that the IPS wins. The only problem is, I prefer the 14" form factor (ideally in 4:3). Trade-offs, sigh.

    Good luck!

Heh, almost considering picking up another T60 during this sale to have one as a spare

EDIT: haha, discount price is 237, but the coupon still takes off 250 bucks. Awesome deal!

Must be nice to have that kind of money to throw around.

Hmm I'm still finding that a loaded T60 flexview is more expensive than it was on Memorial Day (the 2 days when they further cut upgrades).

Dunno why coupon doesn't work on the T60p. I hope the T60p costs less later.
