Can you guys tell me exactly what these are? Isn't Thinkvantage the updating program for auto BIOS and Driver updates from Lenovo. It seems like you would want that. What is Access Connections? Two different things?

Stallen, you are thinking of System Update. Access Connections manages wireless connections. It's an alternative to the built in wifi finder Windows has.

You can uninstall this component separately via the control panel (Add/Remove programs in XP, Uninstall a program in Vista).

Matt, so Access Connections is NOT part of ThinkVantage?

Edit: >>You can uninstall this component separately via the control panel (Add/Remove programs in XP, Uninstall a program in Vista).

Can I restore it later? I dont have any backup or resources CD with me, which did not come with my T61.

OK, I get it. There is...

    "Thinkvantage System Update"...
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...TVSU-UPDATE#hp
System Update™ helps you reduce the time, effort, and expense required to support and maintain the latest drivers, BIOS, and other applications for Think or Lenovo systems. It enables you to get the latest updates from the Lenovo support site, or to automatically schedule your system to be updated.

    and then there is

    "Thinkvantage Access Connections"....
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=TVAN-ACONN
Access Connections is a connectivity-assistant program for your Lenovo notebook computer. With Access Connections, you can quickly switch network and location specific settings such as printer, proxy, etc. by selecting a location profile.

No, it is part of it, but each part can individually be installed/uninstalled. Yes, you can download it from Lenovo's website if you need it later.
