It will have Optimus yes. However, you will not be able to upgrade the graphics and processor in the future. Should be available in May for around $799 starting.

we wont know the actual price until it is released. however, we dont know if the gpu along with the screen is an upgrade or it comes standard. if its included in the 799$ price, then its a great deal but if it isn't it could add quite a bit

Hmm it has some really good hardware (Gtx 660m). I'm just wondering whether this laptop will be able to stay cool and not throttle under heavy gaming.

Lenovo has really been experiencing laptops with heat issues so I dont think you can play a high-end game without a cooling pad in 2-4 hours.

Dammit, the Y580 better have decent cooling, running out of options here .
    Previous options:
    - Asus N56VZ - Gpu is only 650m GDDR3; the color isn't my favorite
    - Gigabyte P2542 - No backlit keys/ plastic/ annoying yellow lid/ too expensive (for the aforementioned issues)
    - Clevo P15xEM - too bulky (considering I just want a 660m or 650m DDR5)/ too expensive

Top of my list (at the moment ):
    - Lenovo Y580 with 660m and i5 (or 35W i7), in June, for ~1000euro (optimistic, huh )
    - Clevo W150ER -650m DDR5
    - MSI GE60 - 650m DDR5
The last 2 don't have backlit keys, but have matte screens (an option for the Clevo)
