Default Just purchased the G575 randomly, some questions.

I was really looking into the m11x and envy 17 (just did int feel like the right time to buy for me), but saw this brand new for 329.99 and picked one up. figure it will tie me over till march or so. so my thoughts are... GREAT deal for the money. The build quality is amazing for a a laptop at this price. Keyboard feels just like the think pad ones. Although i Don't really care for the added num pad (dont think business pro's are getting this kind of laptop for there work) it feels unneeded as it pushes the other keys together. Fan IS LOUD! I wish it was on the back... its constant. Power brick is netbook sized, cool for a 15" machine!!! overall its amazing. so much better than getting a tablet for the same money IMO. but some questions...

    1) should I be able to play games like L4D2 on lowest settings? I tried but failed miserably. Was getting 15-20 fps @ 800 x 600. drivers say latest...

    2) fan speed control? I tried speed fan and power engagement settings to no avail. is this safe? right now its kind of annoying even at idle.

    3)is this a netbook cpu? amd e-450? -

    4) can I drop in a 4gb ddr3 module? i happen to have one lying around. -

    5) OSD volume controls dont always respond/appear. any fixes? -

EDIT: I figured everything out except the first 2. Fan is constant loud. Gaming performance is awful even @ the bare minimum. Which is strange because it plays 4GB MKV files flawlessly.

i got the best buy B575 model for peanuts (open box) and have to say I'm seriously impressed pretty much all the way around. I didn't expect much from it, but have to say not only does it play wow, it plays it very very well. FPS never drops under 27fps and most times runs between 45 and 70 or so depending on activity in the area, even with distance set to ultra etc. Amazing really and for the money, just plain nutz.
