    I can run bulletstorm maxed and playable on my y570. 555m. 30-40 fps @orbit, as others have said it's just the LED screen. I use a really old tri-screen crt setup on my desktop and I find that it takes some adjusting when I switch back to notebook screens. Overall it's about average.

    Ordered a Y470 for $800 before tax and shipping... hopefully it's as good as everyone says. Still debating between sticking to the OE HDD or ordering a mSATA SSD.

    Specs:

    i5 2410
    4GB ram
    Blu-ray drive
    750GB 5400RPM drive

    Edit: Also... does anyone know if the screen can be upgraded with a 1600x900 screen from LG or AUO?
    Laptops:
    Dell Inspiron 1520: Intel C2D T5450, Nvidia 8600M, 2GB DDR2 Ram, 120GB HDD, 1280 x 800 screen.

    Lenovo Y470: i5-2410M, Nvidia 550M, 4GB ram, 128GB MydigitalSSD Smart Series mSATA SSD, 750GB 5400RPM HDD, Blu-ray player, 1366 x 768 screen.

    Desktop: Cooler Master HAF 930, i7 960 @ 4.05GHz, 3X2GB 1600mhz Mushkin Redline, Asus Sabertooth X58, MSI GTX470, 64GB MydigitalSSD Bullet Proof mSATA SSD with MydigitalSSD sata adapter, 1TB Hitachi HDD, Asus VE228H 21.5" 1080P Monitor

    I got quoted that price by Daniel Miron of Lenovo Canada.

    EDIT: So hyped for connecting my Radeon 5870 to my 470, 17-18k 3dmark everything maxed!

    Hey guys, it looks like Lenovo decided to bring back the lower configs for the y470 before july 4th ends; going to pick up the y470. Also they increase the price of y570 to $999.

    Hey guys thanks a lot for all the info in this thread
    I'm looking for a gaming laptop in this budget but I'm torn between the y570 and y470. So I guess what I want to ask is whether the extra bulk of a 15.6 incher worth it for the GT 555M? Especially considering it has the same 96 cores?

    The 1366x768 is going to look horrible on a 15inch laptop since they will look zoomed/close up.

    Get the Y470 if i were you, it is about 1lb lighter and dimensionally smaller leaving you more room on your desk and 1366x768 on a 14" isn't going to be bad but usually 900p is recommended but on a 14" you can still get away with the 720p. Not on 15inch though.

    How does y470 run league of legends and call of duty black ops with maxed out settings? Has anyone tried that?

    i5 = Dual core with 3mb cache

    i7 = Quad core with 6mb cache

    both have hyperthreading, so 4 threads for the i5 and 8 threads for the i7
