HP 15.6 Pavilion laptop - model: m6-1035dx - Problem : TOUCHPAD DOESN'T WORK WHEN I USE KEYBOARD AT THE SAME TIME!
When I hold any key on the keyboard, other than keys like alt, control, shift, the touchpad stops working and I can't move my mouse.
This makes it impossible to play online games cause I can't strafe by using the arrow keys while using the touchpad.
I called HP and we ended up reformatting the laptop, after uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad (which didn't work).
The touchpad worked right briefly before it updated the driver, but after the driver was updated, it went back to not working with the keyboard again.
I rolled back the driver and then the touchpad would work with the keyboard, however, there was a delay in movement even when options were turned up to as fast as they could go.
I called Best Buy, where I purchased it yesterday, and they checked the floor model and it was doing the same thing as my laptop, which alarmed the tech guy there. He said there may be a defect in the entire line, and was thinking of pulling the demo model off the floor.
Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions on how to fix it?Last edited by annaloggs; 19th August 2012 at 03:05 PM.

Alright, I found something that seems to fix this.
I updated the driver again and then went to the mouse menu and in the synaptics menu, I clicked on settings, then I clicked on Smart Sense, and turned it all the way off.
So, as of right now the touchpad will work while using the keyboard, but only if Smart Sense is turned off.
Aside from this issue, I am extremely happy with the performance of this laptop. I am using it for gaming, and while downloading World of Warcraft (currently at only 7% downloaded), I am able to play with video settings set to ultra and I am still getting 50-60 fps!
I hope there are no other issues with this laptop. Seems like every time I get a new computer, some sort of bs problem arises.
Assuming it continues running like it is, this laptop has a lot of higher-end features for a relatively low price tag. Audio is awesome. I can't wait to see how WoW performs when I actually have the game all the way downloaded.

Actually I have the same 'problem'. I am not entirely sure if it is in fact a problem, but I just solve that issue with an external mouse. :P

There is probably a setting that disables the touchpad when you are typing. That's a feature, not a bug. You usually don't want to accidentally reposition the cursor when you are typing, say, in a word processor. Obviously this needs to be turned off when gaming. Or use a mouse.

Exactly. It is meant to do this for regular users. Have to turn it off if you want to game with the trackpad.
