Question about dead hard drive + optical bay caddy
So I have a ssd installed and had removed my optical drive and put my regular hard drive in there. The hard drive clicked for a few days and eventually died (doesn't boot at all with it in the main drive and windows can't see it).
I don't move my laptop so I'm just wondering if my hard drive was defective (which I'm leaning towards) or if there is an issue for the caddy/location of the caddy causing premature hard drive failure.
Also, my second question, if I decide to put a ssd in the optical drive bay caddy should I have an issue with speed or performance of the drive?
Thanks!

Re: Question about dead hard drive + optical bay caddy
Sounds like the drive was faulty.
You haven't mentioned the model of your laptop, but there probably won't be any speed limitation if you install an SSD drive in the optical bay.
