if TDU2 is dx9, then xfire will not work, and you will see 99% load on dgpu.

if there are dx10/11 features, and you enable them, then xfire will work.

running 99% on dgpu is normal. that's how it runs when you turn xfire off.

you know xfire is working when it has a stable load over 50% on igp.
some games will max out both igp and dgpu in xfire

i remember one of the catalyst release notes said xfire would support dx9. So far, I have not seen that actually work.

    Thanks for your reply!

Yeah TDU2 is DX9, But I read online that it supports CrossFire, AMD Catalyst has a pre defined profile for the game, I enabled it and its now running from 85 to 99% DGPU load..

Crossfire support has nothing to do with the API. DX9, DX10, DX11, it doesn't matter. All you need is the proper driver support to allow for crossfire in said game.

A lot of modern games are on the DX9 API but have crossfire support: Skyrim, MW3, Crysis 2 (it's not technically DX11, just some patch up work on DX9).

Whether the game can utilize crossfire depends on AMD's drivers and HP's drivers, and more so on the latter. AMD generally released crossfire profiles within 2 months but HP can take upwards of 6 months+ to release their version of the same drivers that you can download.

Okay. But the game is old, Well from 2011 so the drivers should be out again. I clicked on show dual graphics logo when aviable and of doesn't come out during gameplay, How else can I tell if its crossfiring? All I see I'm amd system montior is load on the 7670m and the 2% load on the 7670g + 7670m....

You can try MSI Afterburner and see if both GPUs are getting loaded.

Alternatively, you can browse thru the text in the driver releases to find if your game is supported. Remember that Trinity crossfire support is new and it can't utilize older crossfire profiles because of the VLIW4+VLIW5 architecture in your setup.

Dual graphics (the actual name of hybrid crossfire/asymmetric crossfire/etc.) doesn't support DX9 (scroll down to Q5 in the FAQ).

All the performance you're going to get in TDU2 is from the discrete card.

I'm guessing this applies only to asymmetric crossfire?

I know you can get crossfire profiles regardless of the API.

So AMD is officially limiting asymmetric crossfire to DX10/11?

I believe AMD said they were adding support sometime in the future when Llano launched but I don't remember the specifics.
