Default Need advice about HP laptop

    So i saw this DV6 6c55

    I7 2.2ghz up to 3.1 (don't remember the model)
    6gb Ram
    Radeon HD 7690M XT (2gb)
    Win7 64-bit

    ***note***
Before i ask, keep in mind that the laptop market in my country is very limited, so i won't always find the hardware you might recommend me, and i probably won't be able to modify any hardware in any way.
    ***note***

I mainly want to game with this laptop, with a side of college work (researches and virtual machine stuff), but my choice is mainly based on gaming needs.

I've been looking around the internet and it seems that people that have HPs with practically the same specs (only 2gb more Ram) have problems with the GPU, they say the drivers are not right and/or it's not running games the way it sounded that it should be running them when they read it's specifications.

This made me quite hesitant to make the purchase, as HP laptops are not exactly known for their sturdiness (materials feel cheap).

I'm also worried about overheating problems, as i usually tend to run games at the best graphics i can achieve without destroying my FPS.

So, What's your opinion about this laptop (buy or no buy)?
What's your opinion about the graphics card issues (can it be solved)?
What's your opinion about the overhearting concerns (should i be worried)?

The Pavilion dv6 is a solidly built model, I've used it and found it to be a great deal for the price. I'm not sure what graphics issues you're referring to exactly, I know there were complaints that at one point HP removed the ability to switch between dedicated and integrated graphics manually using the AMD control center but that has since been resolved.

Heat is not a big issue on the dv6 unless you're using it in your lap and doing intense gaming, it's a good idea to use it on a flat surface during demanding usage so that the vents are clear and fans can work effectively.

other than high pitch fan sound during heavy use(it is dead quiet if just surfing/word) and unintelligent placement of the light, it is a good machine for its price.

Graphic card issue happens on any model, follow the experience of others on this forum and it will be fine.
Some batch(based on some others experience) may have overheating problem but it is not hard to do a repaste/some tweaks.

And I don't think that issues regarding AMD drivers are HP's fault. The most recent drivers of AMD are really messed up, with sticky clocks, etc. For the price it is quite decent purchase. So, to sum up, I'll answer your questions:
    1) buy
    2) The issues can be resolved by installing older drivers.
    3) Heating problem is not the worst part of HP, like it was about 5 years ago.
