Just got my dv6t today. So far loving it. So far hasn't gotten too hot while playing TF2 at high settings, but I plan on loading up bf3 tomorrow and trying that out.

Other than that, I got the 32gb mssd + 1tb hd, and man does this puppy fly. I am really surprised by fast boot times of everything, OS and programs, as well as a quick shutdown time.

Also, the fingerprint reader works surprisingly well. I thought it was just a stupid gimmick, but it actually works.

    Will post more tomorrow.

Well, I received my dv6 today. For the most part, I'm pretty impressed, however it seems that the BIOS is pretty restricted. I was interested in cracking it open and adding an mSATA SSD, however it doesn't seem that you can configure SATA mode in the BIOS to set up RAID (as stated in the Intel SRT User Guide).

I've tried turning to Google for any information, but I've been unsuccessful.

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How did you access the BIOS?

My laptop's shipping out today, a full 6 days ahead of schedule!

... I'm not sure if I should be concerned, with all I've heard about people getting laptops with flawed designs.

I pressed ESC, and then F10.

Just shipped back my dv6 for exchange. Seems like the mSSD needs to be reset according to the support associate I chatted with. HP isn't doing to great a job on construction.

What happened to all the good coupon codes for the dv6t? I see none even approaching the 33% off one. Now it is just the $250 off? Anyone know of anything better?

The problem is that if you want an exchange then you have to pay the difference until your replacement ships to you. And if they don't offer an option that was on the one you are exchanging (for example, they don't offer a 750gb 7200 rpm that is not a hybrid drive now), then do they try to charge you more?

Is it just wishful thinking or is it that those who have most recently received a dv6t are finding it is not as warm/hot as the initial ones?

Yeah, the deals are pretty meh right now. Andrew at laptopreviews.com has my hopes up that HP will have better July 4 offerings, probably starting Sunday or Monday. *fingers crossed*

I don't think they charge you more, after all, it is their fault, you shouldn't really be paying anything. I just returned my dv6 and I paid nothing. Not even shipping.

whats the difference between regular dv6t, dv6t select edition, and dv6t quad edition?

while customizing all 3 the prices are pretty much the same and i can configure them all the same way for the most part--so what is the real difference between them?
