Re: HP dv6t display replacement
Yes it will work. All of the HP-DV6-6000 series use the same screen type.
If you want 1080p get :
LP156WF1(TL)(XX)
I would be replacing the screen ,but am not motivated enough to buy the $45 display cable...
Good price on the best screen : LP156WF1(TL)(F3) replacement Laptop LCD Screen from $79.99 Brand-new screens (never used).
If you are going from 1366x768 to 1080p just be aware that you need the upgraded display cable from HP.
I would like to add, for all those non-US individuals like myself, you can order the cable from here , however shipping is quite expensive : http://www.alinctech.com/Display-Cable-Kit-ALU-FHD.html
(Cable costs $23 but shipping is $36 to Canada... :O)Last edited by rmacgowa; 23rd October 2011 at 09:34 AM.

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
Its there if you search the parts store with the part number. You have to manually tell them that you are in the US to order the part. You can get it slightly cheaper after tax and shipping here: Alinc Technologies | 656805-001 | Display Cable Kit - ALU FHD | LCD
They are an HP preferred partner supposedly.

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
Hello I am interested in doing this since my LCD is going out. I get a horizontal thin green/white line that flass on the top of my screen.
I have a HP dv6-6135dx laptop.
I wanted to know even though I read the manual and all the posts if there is any reason that the old LCD Cable Kitt part number 644362-001
will not work with the LG PHILIPS LP156WF1(TL)(F3) LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 15.6" Full-HD LED DIODE?
I saw the recent post saying that the old cable will work and I wanted to know if this refered to LG PHILIPS LP156WF1(TL)(F3) as well?
I expect the answer is you have to replace the cable to the FHD model that was mentioned in the initial instructions, but I wanted to know is there a real need for the change.
I also saw a recent video that did not require you to take apart the top panel, but this is because he did not change the cable.

Thanks!

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
I cracked my FHD screen on a train, a local repair shop replaced the screen with LG LP156WF2. It works perfectly with my DV6t. The difference between LP156WF1 and LP156WF2 is that LP156WF2 is a FHD glossy screen. If glossy is your thing, then you should look that up. So far, I feel the new LP156WF2 is a little better than the AOU screen I cracked.

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
I am almost positive the dell 1080p 15.6" screens are compatible, but anything with the same 40-pin LVDS connector should work. Not all 15.6" screens have the 40 pin connector though. The connector also has to be on the correct side of the panel. Some are on the left, and some are on the right. when you look at the back of the screen, the connector is on the left side with this laptop.

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
That is great news about the panels. I was holding off until I had enough money to do this. I checked out the price for the cable a couple of months ago.
Bad news is, the cable in my country has jumped from $51 usd to about $103 usd, and that is without shipping added.
Not sure if I want to pay so much for a ribbon cable. Don't really understand how the price can just change like that?Last edited by T2050; 3rd December 2011 at 01:14 AM.
