I am looking into doing this too. How much did you guys end up paying for the cable? I was able to find a glossy version of the LP156WF1 for quite cheap, but it looks like the cable will cost me more than the screen

Couldn't you maybe take a photo (or find a photo) of the display cable you used? i might have found a compatible one (from a dv7) and would like to see if it's actually the same cable

    Default LP156WF1(TP)(B1) Is Incompatible!

    Warning!
I received a Matte LP156WF1(TP)(B1) from laptopscreen.com and it has a 30-pin connector instead of the appropriate 40-pin connector for a DV6T-6000 QE.

I am in process of attempting to exchange for a Matte LP156WF1(TL)(F3) after confirming it is 40-pin.

I received both the dual channel cable from HP and the LCD in 6 days.

The HP cable works fine with the original monitor.

Yeah the (TP)(B1) in some cases has a 30 pin connector. You need to check out the model specifications to make sure it has a 40 pin connector.

The (TL)(A1) and (TL)(F3) have 40 pin connectors. The reason that some of the (TP)(B1) have a 30 pin connector is that it is a model built for DELL laptops.

if the display cable cost 44 dollars, then it is not wroth to upgrade the panel.

Does that mean all 1366x768 panels have 30 pin ribbon cables?
Can some please post the hp part number for the actual 1080p panel from hp, thanks.

According to hwinfo my LCD panel is a Chi Mei N156B6-L0B. After researching the net the panel has a 40 pin connector. Does this mean the original cable will fit, or is there some other kind of difference between a 40 pin 768p ribbon cable and a 40 pin 1080p ribbon cable.

In any case, the old cable will fit the new screen, there just are not as many wires inside. From the outside, both the original cable and the original screen had 40 contacts. However, when I took the cable apart, there were only 20 wires.
