HP dv6t display replacement

Yup, it's matte. The main difference I see in real life is the resolution. One can fit much more on the screen. I think the difference in colors and such is over-hyped. But the matte finish is really handy at times.

So if I plan to keep using 1366x768, do you think it is worth the upgrade? For me, it's either upgrade the screen of my dv6t, or use the money to invest in a tablet (Android or iPad for daily usage). By the way, I installed a ScreenGuard so my screen is already matte finish

Personally, I would get a tablet over the screen. I still think the screen was worth it, but if I had to decide, I would go with a tablet. The tablet would add actual usefulness, while the screen is just aesthetic mostly. I would go for the samsung galaxy tab or motorola xoom, just since I do a lot of system mods and the like. The Ipad is not very friendly to ... er... hacking. Android, however, is completely open source. If I had had the money to spend on a tablet, I probably would have gone that route.

What is the difference between the sub-models of the LP156WF1? Would the LP156WF1(TL)(A1) work??? Upgradeyourlaptop has them for $70....

Thanks so much for your honest input. Now I will go for the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1. The screen upgrade cost for me shipped (cable + screen) would be about $200, not including customs duties/taxes to Canada, which is almost half the cost of the tablet. Thanks again

Would anyone recommend the The B156WH01 V.3? Is it comparable to the LG156WF1(TL)(F3).

They are almost identical spec-wise, you probably wouldn't tell the difference. I only got the LG because it could get it from a place that I trusted, that was not in taiwan.

Yeah, I found a seller from new york on ebay listing it for $80. Although he's listing the LP156WF1(TL)(F3), the description is for a B156WH01 V.3. What do you think?

Looks good except the title/page mismatch. I would suspect a miscopy of information. You could just get the listing that says B156HW01 V.3 at the top. What I find a little interesting and slightly disconcerting is that they have the v.4 for the same price. These prices seem a little too low to actually make money, but the seller has a good rep.

went ahead and order the cable and screen. should be here in a few days. its funny how i order the parts even though i don't even have my laptop atm. its at hp for repairs on backlight issues.
