Re: HP dv6t display replacement
Laptopscreen.com is where I ordered my screen. It came in 2 days from Vancouver, Canada to NYC packed very safely.
However, the cable I ordered from waresphere.com is yet to be seen. Don't use their cheaper shipping. It kind of sucks that something so light and small is sent by boat instead of airmail in a small bubble envelope. Alinc is more expensive but less stressful and you know when you can expect your item.

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
The Hp Partsurfer says the upgraded part number for the cable is 665305-001
It's selling now for 34.20 before tax/shipping etc. Still a bit crazy high for a cable, IMO... Has anyone purchased that part number?

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
Ok, just did the upgrade to 1080p
cable: LCD LVDS Cable of HP DV6-6000 FHD (50.4RN10.021)
screen: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English...56WF1(TL)(F3)/
the cable took it's time to arrive ( 21 days from Singapore to Israel ) .
the screen was at my door after 4 days.
So many screws in order to get to the screen cable and take it out.
All in all it was fun
Tips:
1)When you take the screws out, make a pile and write on a little piece of paper how many screws there are, and where they go.
( something like : "One screw, under the HD " , "7+2 screws bottom of the laptop, 2 smaller screws in holes with triangle near them" )
you may think it's idiot or something like that, but you need to keep track of it ( there are 30~screws you'll be taking out from the laptop, make sure all of them go back in
)
2)the routing of the screen cable is a pain!
-take the left hinge out for better access.
-before you take out the stock cable, learn the routing it takes inside the laptop, you do not want to pinch it .
3) Make sure the screen works before you close everything together.
after you connect the new screen, insert the battery , connect the left most ZIP connector from the top cover/panel ( it connects to the power button ) and start the laptop, if the screen works, good job, if not, well ........
I forgot to take pictures, believe me, once you take it apart you want to put it back together as soon as possible .
EDIT:
It seems the new screen uses a lot more power, 4\5 watts more ( according to powerTop on linux ).
Did anyone had the same experience ?Last edited by sLinkAge; 25th April 2012 at 10:11 AM.

Re: HP dv6t display replacement
Found the original part in the first post, and now have ordered it
Is there any part number for the panels. They may cost less than buying locally on trader web sites where I live. HP 1080p FHD anti-glare numbers?
Edit, I have found as above the AUO B156HW01 V4 is the best anti-glare to get. So I guess a standard issue HP FHD panel would be inferior. I am going for a AUO B156HW01 V4 even though a V7 is meant to be better but that is glossy and I am not into those.Last edited by T2050; 9th May 2012 at 08:02 AM.
