Re: *HP dv6z AMD Llano (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
eugenepvd: Cheers for posting your k10stat info, I'll give that a try. It'll give me something to work from & tweak.
baiii: I did rename HP Tools before the bios flash. I changed it back after the Bios Recovery reverted back to F.21 as I wasn't sure if I'd be messing with the custom bios again.
Something just doesn't feel right after the whole Bios recovery happened.. I feel as though the 6750m isn't being utilized as much as it should. For example, Battlefield 3 is getting 12-20fps no matter which settings I apply (low-med-high-auto, all the same)
Edit:
Installed the 12.7 beta drivers and I think performance may be back to normal or perhaps even better than before.
After the install/reboot, Battlefield 3 was still acting sluggish with low fps 12-22ish, but I decided to stick with it and climb the hill by the US base on OP Firestorm (32p Conquest) and all of sudden fps just got better and better. Sluggish game play was replaced with buttery smooth goodness 72-92fps @1366x768, low settings. (No oc on 6750) I'll bump it up to something higher next time I play. Yay!
Edit 2: Couldn't replicate fps again w/ BF3. Performance back to wonky old self. Will test more tomorrowLast edited by Hadoland; 21st June 2012 at 11:16 PM. Reason: Performance update

Re: *HP dv6z AMD Llano (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Rumors and speculation and BLAH. However it's still a decent graphics chip. Heretical estimations here: AMD Radeon HD 7730M - Notebookcheck.net Tech as proper numbers appear to be in short supply. I am intrigued by the notion this chip supports up to six monitors. Also the dynamic clocking nonsense.
The new dv6z has one more USB 3 now....and THOSE JERKS have again denied the lineup a freakin Displayport. It will probably still be limited to a single external monitor. Definitely a minor evolutionary design change from the previous model. Asking price is still pretty good though. $950 with maxed CPU/GPU, 1080p and backlit keyboard *without* coupons. Perhaps if we get a decent coupon it could fly off into space for about $750 or less.

It seems that llano laptops definitely were the best... for the moment, but I'd go for the msi one with a10 and 7950

Re: *HP dv6z AMD Llano (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Anyone running 12.6 or 12.7 have problem with freezing when changing from battery to AC vice versa?
Just back down to 12.1.
Here is a list of bug I get with 12.6/12.7 , game does seem to run a little smoother though, also chaning to fixed mode wont had hand shutdown
1.enter windows with hdmi plug in will yield no display on internal or external, not fixable except reboot.
2.froze when switching battery/AC as mention previously
3. hot plugging hdmi quick seem to able to frozeLast edited by baiii; 23rd June 2012 at 01:41 AM.

Re: *HP dv6z AMD Llano (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
i had that freezing/crash problem before.
the way i fixed it is to make sure all the CCC "Power" submenu items were all activated..... from powerplay through cpu power.
fixed mode reboot hang was fixed back in 12.4.
you don't get sticky clock in fixed mode?
with newer drivers, fixed mode makes windows shake when dragging them. do you have this problem?Last edited by link626; 23rd June 2012 at 04:47 AM.
