i ordered a dv6t quad edition yesterday with a 6770 graphing card, i heard you can't switch manually is this true? is there any driver i can install to make it work?

we can't use driversweeper on the 6100 series. it gives BSOD. even if you do it in safemode it's still buggy.

BSOD in normal mode is expected but safemode have problem?

It should loaded up the default and only see the intel but load the standard vga driver after reboot. Not the intel driver.

problem is, it never loads the standard vga driver. it reverts to 3/15 intel and amd drivers no matter how its deleted - or gives straight BSOD upon reboot.

Did you happen to use the Windows Update to update some parts of the driver??

If not, I guess the driver sweeper failed to delete them. You should gotten to the point it only load standard vga driver, which takes a couple of additional attempts to be sure.
Windows should have no memory or have a catalog of previous graphic drivers.

that is what I thought before i got the 6100, in fact i thought that i could get manual switching on it by playing around with the drivers. it is somehow different from conventional system that I'm used to, at the hardware/bios level, not just at the drivers level. things that work on other systems (e.g. driversweep followed by installation of drivers) doesn't work on this.

i can get rid of the drivers to one of two points - completely nonexistent or at the 3/15 intel/ati. in the first case, none of the drivers work, not even the ones from HP - it claims hardware not compatible. the only thing i can do at that point is to rescan for "hardware changes" in device manager and let it install the 3/15 drivers. either way, in order to get a functional display driver, you HAVE to go through the intel/ati 3/15 drivers. if you go before that, then you can't move forward to any new drivers at all as now it claims that there is hardware incompatibility.

That's weird. Then how a couple of people managed to clean install their 6100 if the HP default didn't install.

I think i have tried all possible driver combinations with amd and intel.

i have only one time get the dynamic scheme, when i installed "applications profile cap2" on 8.830.6.2000 drivers.

but its not came back again.

I don't know about ya'll, but dynamic is working pretty well for me. Settings to high performance works most of the time. Also, as devs begin begin to understand dynamic switching better, it will be more responsive.

can you write which versions you get now? catalyst control center, amd and intel versions?

You haven't answered if you downloaded the 6100 HP AMD Driver from someone who owns a 6100?
