HP dv6tqe RAM (DIMM) question
I see where it comes with a free upgrade to 6GB 1333 RAM (2 DIMMs). Does anyone know if this setup is 4GB+2GB or is it 3GB+3GB DIMMs? The online live chat rep said it was 4+2 but then the phone call rep said it was 3+3. Can anyone confirm?
I thought RAM had to be identical or it would cause problems (if 4+2). Does Windows 7 (64 bit) make this problem obsolete?

Re: HP dv6tqe RAM (DIMM) question
It usually in the powers of 2 and divisible by a multiple of 8 * n.
They don't have to match really.
The only time they have to match is for true dual channel mode in both capacity and timings.
But Intel has a clever little old tech of that make it look like in dual channel mode.HP dv6t-3000 CTO Select Edition - Intel i5-520m, 8GB DDR3, AMD Radeon 5650m,
Intel Wifi 6250 ABGN (2.4Ghz/5Ghz). Windows 8 Professional x64 / Fedora 18 x86
Dell XPS 15 R2 - Intel i7-2630qm, 6GB DDR3, Nvidia Geforce GT 540m,
Intel Wifi 6230 ABGN (2.4Ghz/5Ghz). Windows 8 Professional x64

Re: HP dv6tqe RAM (DIMM) question
It's 4GB and 2GB.3GB dimms are used only in triple channel which, i assure you, no mobile cpu supports
And as Falco said, they only need to match in frequency and timings.
