How in the hell did you happen to figure this out btw? Hahaha

Anyways, my dv6 is still in the exchange/refund period. I'm contemplating returning it and ordering the 1080P laptop with 2gb 6770 and maintaining the same specs as my current laptop. The problem is that HP won't honor my current coupons so I'd end up paying ~300 dollars more.

    Y'all think it's worth it?
Yeah, I returned and reordered yesterday and my net difference was about $200 - same specs except the 2gb video card and the screen. It was worth it for me as my eyes just could not tolerate the lower resolution of the screen. I was getting headaches and eyestrain, and for someone that spends hours in front of the computer every day, that was just not acceptable.

Yeah the real estate is nice but at what cost? Your back from leaning over and your eyes from being less than 12" from the laptop, don't tell me you can zoom because the negates the "real estate".

I mean really, your NORMAL viewing distance is 24" max (go ahead lean your head further away ) on a 15.6" screen. Your average viewing distance of a TV is 6-10' and lets say its on a 46" TV screen. You do the math.
What is the reason the Blue-Ray? Really? I just don't get it, maybe it's just me.
For me, it is a matter of comfort. The headaches and eye strain caused by the original screen was just not worth it. The 1080p was not a requirement for me, but a resolution much higher than what was delivered with the dv6tqe and at least as high as my current "antique" computer was an absolute must. I believe I would have returned it for that reason anyway even if they had not come out with the new screen.

Oops! Meant to mention that even though I have been much less than impressed with HP's customer service, I am quite impressed with their return process.

I received my return confirmation email with label instructions from FedEx less than an hour after talking with HP about the RMA. After restoring the computer hard drive to original state I packed the computer up and dropped it off at FedEx at 3:00 for a 3:30 pickup. By 3:48 I had an email from HP stating that my refund was being processed.

Given my customer service experience(s) I was very surprised that the return process was so painless.

the thing is that the non FHD screens absolutely suck between all the manufacturers and the only good screens in terms of color/viewing angle are the FHD screens.

Did anyone notice that the lightscribe option is no longer listed on the blu-ray/dvd selection page? Did they do away with it or is it now included with all such drives?

I did notice that the spec PDF of the quick ship shows the lightscribe logo with the other logos so I am assuming it is now standard.

    Anyone know?

I see that as well for the dv6t qe - when I ordered yesterday, my estimate build date was June 7th. I hope that means I will get mine quickly.

I think they have updated their online order statuses as well. With my original order it only showed "in production" then (I believe) "shipped". When I looked at my order a few minutes ago, it shows "order dropped to factory". I created the original order online; due to technical difficulties with the coupon, I placed the new order over the phone using HP Sales - maybe that makes a difference...shouldn't but maybe it does.

Hell no I'm in the same boat but I have the dv7t so I can live with a 900p. If I had a occurred larger then 21inch then 1080p would be more ideal

    Just have few Q's,

Does it have a back-lit keyboard or not?
Does it get really hot or no?
    Sound/Speakers are good or no?
2GB VRAM card is good or no (for CAD stuff)?
1080P screen is any good or no?

    Thx
