I ordered a DV7t on 3-22, and my estimated ship date is 4-5 - has been static. Will be interesting to see if one or the other (or both) ships.

Same thing for me also, only difference is I got 6gb ram, not 8. Going to call/text support and see if I can get the 15% off coupon added and maybe free 2day shipping. I'll let you guys know if I have any luck or not.
Re: *HP dv6t, dv7t Select Edition / Quad Edition (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Im not sure if this question was covered or not but does anyone know if the dv7t screen is 60 or 120hz. I have got conflicting reports from HP itself. When I ordered the dv7tqe i was told yes it was. After talking to them to get more info out of the parts they were using they could not find whether or not it was 60 or 120.
My other question was does anyone know what SSD they are using.....PS config below waiting till April11 with next day shipping ....cant wait like xmas.

Not sure how AMD's system works, but can you have it run on the discreet GPU all the time if you want even if you're not doing anything that would require it?
Re: *HP dv6t, dv7t Select Edition / Quad Edition (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
It's almost 100% gonna be 60hz, the only 120hz laptop HP has is the Envy 17 3D

Unless they changed with this set of updates it's the intel x25-m.
Re: *HP dv6t, dv7t Select Edition / Quad Edition (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
Got my dv7qte today too! It's about time! Just for those who are requesting 2-day shipping, it's good if you get it, but it didn't make that much of a difference to me. The resolutions dept. told me they would submit a 2-day shipping request for me too, but FedEx still showed 5-7 day shipping. But, my order got picked up on April 1st, and I'm getting it today. I mean, it's literally been 2-business days, even with 5-7 day shipping.
Re: *HP dv6t, dv7t Select Edition / Quad Edition (6XXX series) Owners Lounge*
So...for battery life estimates. People are saying 3.5-4hrs normal use on the 6-cell battery?
If so, a clunky 9-cell battery would give you about 7 hours of battery life, which is pretty good considering the high caliber parts. I wonder if you could disallow the processor from increasing its power usage regardless of load...and if you deactivate the discrete graphics if you can get up to 10hrs on a 9-cell. That'd be nice.
BTW - I'm comparing the 55Wh of the 6-cell to 100Wh of the 9-cell.

I don't NEED this laptop until mid to late summer, should I hold off buying...and if I should what should I pay attention to over the next 3-4 months?
There is supposed to be a new motherboard coming out (I forgot the name), which is supposed to add a benefit of being able to support caching for SSD's. I recall hearing the release was going to occur in late May or something.
