I am waiting for a Core i3 Dual Core 18watt TDP processor, before they can reasonably compared. But even then the Core i3 SB will be close to $200.

I am waiting for a Core i3 Dual Core 18watt TDP processor, before they can reasonably compared. But even then the Core i3 SB will be close to $200.

I'll have to stick with Anandtech for sane comparisons. I guess they couldn't wait until February 20th and test the i3's for a more logical comparison...

Not bad, saying our unit is a "high-end ultraportable" even though it starts out at only $449 (or even less with a coupon).

This thing is pretty much blowing me away at this point. I put in 3:45 of solid gaming last night before I got my first low battery warning. And it performed beautifully. Dead Space (on medium settings) and TF2 (on high settings) played without a stutter.

Does anyone know which HP Wireless Assistant works? I did a fresh install of my DM1Z to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and every HP Wireless Assistant I find through the forums won't let me install. It says it is not supported by this model. Any help is appreciated. I need to turn on my bluetooth!

• Wireless: doesn't work. Wireless chipset reported as Ralink 539f, which seems to be different enough that the usual Ralink tips don't work (yet). See thread here.
• Sound: working out of box on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit
• Suspend: working out of box on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit
• Video drivers: worked unaccelerated out of the box. Had to manually install ATI drivers to get an accelerated desktop. Not a big hassle.

So promising, but not yet fully functional.

My bag came in and it fits the Dm1z perfectly. I got the Timbuk2 D-Lux in size small. Highly recommended
