It should be fine with ultimate 64 according to the HP web site. Did you save the file and then install? I installed on mine no problem but it does take a few minutes.

At last! The dm1z that I ordered a month ago is finally on its way. Can't wait.

After set hp coolsense(quietest mode),I also feel noisy.

The noise comes from the fan,not the disc.(I use ssd in my dm1z)

Thanks. But I need a HP recovery DVD, not a W7 distro.
If someone would put the BOOT folder from the recovery partition onto megaupload it might work.

How much lower? Like macbook air low. Sound of a moving truck? My dm1 isn't load but it's this whistle it produces that annoys me.

I just noticed that Windows Update has new drivers for video and for the HP drive sensor under optional updates. I updated, and Windows reports the following version changes (note that my most recent video driver update prior to this installation was the Catalyst 11.2 update from AMD)

Video Driver Before update: 8.821.0.0 1/26/11
Video Driver After update: 8.822.4.2000 4/23/11

Drive Sensor Before update: 4.1.1.1 7/16/10
Drive Sensor After update: 4.2.1.1 4/20/11

Catalyst Control Center reports the same 2d driver version, and since the update was driver only, the Catalyst Control Center version itself also remains unchanged.

Looks Like HP has posted the first BIOS Update for the dm1z-3000.
