Re: HP DM1z
I found a solution for one part of my request.
Turn off your notebook LCD with one-click | Redmond Pie
This is an exe that causes your LCD backlight to shutdown and it also blanks the screen. The screen turns on as soon as you touch a key or move the mouse.
I put the exe in my program folder and then created a shortcut on the desktop. I then right clicked the shortcut icon and set the "Shortcut Key" so hitting CRTL + F1 blacks my screen out.
It's not exactly what I wanted, but it will do for now.
Edit: Ok. It's more quirky than I like. But it's the closest I have to a solution.HP DM1z (Zacate E-350) - 6GB Ram - 320GB HD

Re: HP DM1z
I've actually never removed HP Wireless Assistant. However I'm desperate enough that I gave this a shot. I Uninstalled and reinstalled (from recovery manager and then again with a fresh installer that you linked) and the situation has not improved.
One peculiar quirk I just found though, was when I uninstalled My Bluetooth via the start menu and restarted my computer, the Bluetooth icon appeared in my system tray. There was also an error message stating "Device could not be properly installed." I checked the Device Manager and the windows had loaded the generic Bluetooth Drivers. This also opened Bluetooth options in Control Panel>Hardware. Unfortunately I am still unable to successfully pair with any device.
After 3 hours with tech support watching the experts do everything I already tried, I have now made arrangements to return my computer. I now have a quick ship model on the way and hopefully everything works.

Re: HP DM1z
Hi everyone,
Still looking for someone who can make some pictures of the mainboard with 3G or 2nd mini-pcie slot active on DM1Z.
I've attatched some pictures of my mainboard (no 2nd m-pcie slot and sim card holder - soldered myself the sim card reader and 2nd slot).
So, now I need you all to find a way to activate power to both (I found WWAN 1.5 text on the back of the mainboard - see picture).
If someone can help...electronic person or just a few ideas will be more than welcome to complete this hack!!
Thanks,
Davy

Re: HP DM1z
2 questions.
My laptop is shipping out from shanghai. This might be a dumb question, but do all our computers get made in China? even though HP is headquartered in Palo Alto?
Also, the webcam is 2.8 mp yes? It's not important, but I just want to make sure.
