Just ordered mine. Sure am glad this came out, I was about to jump on either a Thinkpad Edge or one of the CULV ASUS Thin & Light notebooks. This is a much better deal. I wasn't sure about getting the 9 cell battery, but the product demo says you can get up to 12 hours on it, so I decided to go for the deal that includes both batteries.

Does anyone know how much bloatware I can expect to be on this thing? The required option of Microsoft Works isn't a good sign, but it's not hard to just nuke the hard drive clean.

Go into your internet options and make sure that cookies are enabled. Also, get a registered account on bing through an e-mail address, hotmail for example, and register an account for bing cashback. Whenever you click the link it should show a nice little box for a few seconds that confirms you will get 25% cash back through purchases from HP. If you don't get any e-mails or confirmation in the next two days, send an e-mail to bing customer service and they will help you.

how accurate is HP with their estimated build dates? i almost NEED this laptop before June 1, and June 1 is the estimated build date + 5-6 days for standard shipping. im still currently running windows 7 RC and the expiration is set for June 1

I still hadn't received an email from Bing, and I wanted to make some changes to my order anyway, so I just got off the phone with HP to cancel my order. I am about to reorder right now and I want to be sure to get the BCB.

Did you guys already have your dm4 in your cart when you went through Bing or did you configure through the link when you ordered?

    Here's mine...

    • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-430M Dual Core processor (2.26GHz, 3MB L2 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz
    • 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

    • [For HP Mobile Broadband WWAN] 14.0" diagonal High-Definition HP BrightView LED Display (1366 x 768)
    • SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support
    • HP TrueVision Webcam + Fingerprint Reader + Digital Microphone
    • Wireless-N Card
    • Full-size island-style keyboard
    • High Capacity 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (standard)
    • Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
    • HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope

I went back and forth about the optional dedicated graphics card. In the end, I don't actually use my computer for much multimedia besides music and an occasional streamed NFL game (which is limited more by quality of the feed than GPU power), so I decided to just be content with the integrated graphics. This computer is well more than I need for grad school multitasking. Should be fun to see how it handles my usual plethora of office documents and browsing tabs
