Think I may have just answered my own questions: SP9300

    Can anyone confirm please?
    Thanks
According to the HP spec sheet for the dm3-1030ea, it has a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo X2 Dual-Core Processor for Ultrathin Notebooks L335 which is a BGA processor meaning it should be soldered to the motherboard which makes upgrades not possible (or atleast extermely difficult). Plus, the SP9300 which is an Intel cpu & so wont be compatible with the AMD socket/chipset.

Not that, but I've hit a year and a month with this laptop already, and I'm planning on keeping this, unlike my previous laptops, I sell them when I'm bored, this is just too good.

Other than that, my left mouse button's chrome part started peeling off where I use to press the button, I can attach a picture later on, but has it started happening to anyone else? And also, does the mousepad show wear?

I've had mine for 1 year 3 months and used it for 2 complete semesters without much wear. The trim hasn't worn and neither has the trackpad, hopefully it will stay that way.

    Same here.
Only tiny bits have fallen off the trim, but you can hardly see them.
Trackpad looks good as new. I've had mine for over a year now.

Hey guys.. My dm3t is still kicking strong. Seriously, the best laptop I've ever owned. But I used it so much that the battery life is starting to diminish. I get ~80% of the original capacity, and under load it seems to drain quicker.

Anyway.. I was just curious if you guys have a particular favorite offbrand you buy your batteries from, or if there was anything you think I should consider before I pick one up. Thanks.

    Third-party batteries are not recommended.
The best choice would be to buy one directly from HP.

Hi guys and gals, finally going to get around to doing a clean install and I'm stuck on step #2 of Phil's guide. The link to the MS USB tool no longer works, any help?

    Thanks

A quick google search helps out a lot. Here you go
