Does anyone know how the high end Intel option (the SP9300) compares to some of the high end options available in the dv3t series, such as the P7550 or the P8700. The only differences from what I can see besides teh minimal frequency differences is that the SP9300 has 6MB cache, compared to 3 on the two P series.

Is there anything else I'm missing. Is one series more efficient than the other?

pretty good list

I also find it annoying that you cant configure a machine with the SP9300 and the integrated 4500 gfx. Just because some of us require some extra cpu power dosent mean we automaitcly need a more powerfull gpu to compromize the battery life, heat and weight..

My guess is that it probably has something to do with the motherboard. The more options you offer, the higher the cost because of having to manage inventory for multiple parts.

Hi. I am planning to buy a 13.3 inches notebook and I am hesitating. I find this HP dm3 with intel/nvidia combination interesting but I would need to completly deactivate the G105M from BIOS since I plan to use linux with it. With linux it will be impossible to switch graphic card by software unhopefully.
So please, could someone tell me if there is an option in the BIOS to deactivate the G105M, or if there is only a switch from "discrete" to "switchable", like in ACER *810t line notebooks ?

And also, another question is : are they bluetooth-equipped ?

Thank you for giving me this information, this is very important for me for the choice of the notebook.

Bluetooth is an option that you can add on. It's $25 additional.

I'm wondering if the SU7300 will play back online video like netflix and ABC. Will it do blu-ray? I bought a DV2 with a NEO cpu and it couldn't play back netflix it pegged the cpu to 100%, i had to return it, to me it was a pricey netbook. I'd much rather get the SU series instead of the SP as it's 15 less watts.

@atseng : thank you for this part of the question.

But what about the discrete GC ? Is it possible to switch to the integrated one in the BIOS ? I mean, an option which says you are on the integrated GC, and not on a kind of "switchable" mode that need a software action to switch off the NVidia GC .

The SU7300 will play back online videos without a problem. Even I can do it on my very old inspiron 1300 with a Centrino M processor

I played back netflix perfect on my dv2 and also on a mini 311 with atom. I'm guessing you had an issue, the vista on the dv2 was horrible and killed my system so I put on xp though, maybe that was the difference, not sure
