Noticed today that the HP DM3T USA page shows the discrete GPU option for the DM3T (DM3 with Intel CPU) is the Nvidia G105M. I wonder how much lower battery life will be versus having solely the Intel 4500MHD.

The DM3Z with AMD CPU has an integrated Radeon 3200 and a discrete GPU option of the Radeon 4330.

Bought the dm3t just earlier today. Really excited to get it... Too bad it'll be about 2 weeks. Estimated build date is Oct. 28th.

anyone care to explain the differences between the dm3t and the dm3z? Looks like the intel one is $100 more expensive??? Is it worth getting the dm3t over the dm3z?

well, depending on the model you go for, the most expensive Intel model (the one with the SP9300, 2.26ghz with 6mb L2 Cache) will very likely be noticeably faster as far as the CPU goes, I really can't say graphics wise for the high end (ATI HD4330 vs, Nvidia G105M, probably going to be close). I would want to see some benchmarks on the lower end, slower Intel CPUs, they probably are going to end up being faster than the AMD Neos but possibly not by much. At the low end as far as graphics goes, the ATI HD3200 is definitely better than the Intel 4500. So in conclusion, I say if you are going for a spec'd out one, get the Intel. Low-end/low-price wait and see for the benchmarks but I am leaning AMD. Middle end really depends on how fast the Intel CPUs are and weather or not its worth it to get them and weather the CPU is more important to you than the graphics.

if I go for the spec'd out dm3t with the nvidia g105m, will it decrease the battery life dramatically?
