strange, for some reason tghe black one doesn't have the option anymore for backlit keyboard,hp needs to wake up

I wouldn't worry too much about that option - the white keyboard will work well in the dark, and the LED display will give you enough light to see what you're typing. Worked for me anyway.

Its advertised as having backlit keyboard however i cant seem to configure one with the feature... neither white nor black unit shows the option as ba keyboard. Only Color Matching keyboard.

I might just be plunking down cash on one of these if HP decides to offer the T9900, P9700 or P9800 processors as options in the coming weeks.

Mind you, I wouldn't mind seeing a P9900 come out from Intel - 3.06GHz at 25W sure would light my fire! Then again a Clarksfield notebook would too.
