    I was having an online chat with HP support guy and he took my product and serial number and came up with this - "The hard drive will not be detected by xp because the Notebook specifications are specially designed for vista, this so because your model is new"

    Somebody has respect for this statement, any comment?

    hey thanks for all the advise to install xp it worked! i was so happy until i started to open programs and my mouse would freeze not leting me do anything then a line would go up and down my screen but after that then i could use my mouse again any ideas how to fix this problem????

    reinstall usb mouse drivers?

    does your brightness control or IR remote work?

    Bump for a view on this, is this fixed by slip streaming SATA drivers in to windows xp CD???

    that will get your laptop to be able to boot into windows setup yes

    yes. youll need to download and extract the SATA drivers and slipstream them using nLite

    another bump for brightness fix...

    also.. Is your Intel 5100 wifi card slowing down after heavy usage?

    Can we replace wiht an atheros based card?

    never had problems with intel wireless
